Flavor company to expand in Concord

The new production hub of Custom Flavors from California will be in Concord.

Custom Flavors was established in 2005 and specializes in crafting both powdered and liquid flavors for various industries. Alex Wendling, president of the company, said that it is looking to enhance its service on the East Coast with this new facility in Concord. The facility will streamline the operations of the company so that lead times are shorter, and freight costs will be lower for its growing customer base. Wendling expressed his excitement about expanding the company operations in the state and becoming part of the community of Concord.

The new facility will introduce 30 jobs with new positions that will include production operators, food scientists, and quality control engineers, some of whom may require business card printing services. The average salary for the new positions is expected to be $56,400, which is above the average in the county. This will have a beneficial economic impact for the county and will be a welcome addition to its growing industrial environment.

The One North Carolina Fund is providing a performance-based grant of $34,000 towards the facility. This funding requires that the local government match that amount for the money to be awarded. Paul Newton, a senator from North Carolina, congratulated the company on their expansion to the state.
