Concord calls out to those who love art

Motivated individuals who want to serve the community and have a passion for the arts are being sought by the city of Concord to join the Public Arts Commission, which has been recently established.

The goal of the Commission is to implement the first Public Art Master Plan in the city, and to advise the City Council on how to encourage public projects of art in Concord.

The Public Art Master Plan was adopted by the city earlier this year with feedback from the community. The plan is designed to create a vision for public art programs that will celebrate the rich history of the city and strengthen and unite its diverse communities.

Andy Langford, a member of the City Council, said that the approval of the Master Art Plan by the Council is a transformational and inspirational moment for the city. He said that the plan offers innovative approaches to celebrate Concord’s diversity and rich history. He added that it will change how residents see themselves in the present and for many years to come.

News about such new plans and the need for people to assist with their development can be spread throughout a city with poster printing.

Those who are interested in serving on the Public Art Commission can visit the office of the City Clerk for an application form, or apply online.
