Tree climbing competition plans visit to Charlotte

Determined climbers may want to keep an open schedule next month, as a tree climbing competition is bringing some festivities to Charlotte.

The North American Open Master (NAOM) 2024 tree climbing competition is set to begin in a few weeks, with competitors demonstrating the quickest and most effective ways to climb trees. The event is designed to promote safe practices within the arboriculture industry. Competitors will display their skills and show tree climbing as both an art form and a competitive sport.

The competition in Charlotte is the first event for NAOM on the East Coast in 2024. Guests can anticipate a range of competitors from the surrounding areas to witness the competition. Participants must provide documents to the organizer to participate in the 2024 iteration of the event. All competitors must submit a training log displaying at least three hours of training. Printing services are the perfect solution for training logs at events like this.

All competitors will receive shirts, and the event requests that interested parties provide $25 to cover the cost of the shirt. Attendees can register as technical or non-technical volunteers. Guests are encouraged to register early to avoid the waitlist.

The Historic Elmwood/Pinewood Cemeteries will host the competition, beginning on Friday, April 19th, and continuing until April 21st. Tickets cost $225 for competitors and $25 for volunteers, and they can be purchased online.
