Those aged 21 years and older are invited to unleash their inner child during an after-hours event at the Discovery Science Center in Charlotte.
‘Science on the Rocks’ allows adults to take part in science, games, and brain teasers. Guests can check out the museum’s new temporary exhibit called ‘Alien Worlds and Androids’, at which viewers can learn about scientists’ quest to look for extraterrestrial life. Then, they can try out a virtual adventure, play a video game on a huge screen, and drink a science-experiment in the form of a beverage. Drinks and food will be available for purchase too.
For more entertainment, Caroline Calouche and Co., an aerial dance company, will be performing. The nonprofit organization will use an apparatus such as silk to dance in the air. Along with putting on performances, the company provides camps, classes, and educational opportunities.
For $8, individuals can purchase tickets in advance on the Discovery Place website. Tickets are $10 at the door and proper identification will be required for admittance. Admission includes access to the museum but doesn’t include parking fees.
Banner printing is one method the museum has probably used to advertise for the event. For promotional purposes, a vinyl banner could be placed near the science center's entrance.
The event takes place on July 18 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Discovery Place is located at 301 North Tryon Street.
