This month, school-aged children can be active, have fun, and support a good cause.
The First Annual 'Charlotte Youth Fit Fest' is inviting kids to run various distances. There will be games, refreshments, prizes, and awards.
In order to make this event possible, Ortho Carolina, a pediatric orthopedic center, has partnered with the Second Harvest Food Bank and 'Together We Feed' Charlotte. The organizations have come together to help provide children in the area with food and care.
Participants are asked to bring a used book, in good condition, to donate at the event. The Books will be put into food-filled backpacks and given to children in need. To advertise the event, a flyer printing service may have been asked to create handouts to distribute to those in the Charlotte area.
For a $10 fee, kindergarteners and first graders can run a ¼ mile race while second and third graders are invited to take part in a ½ mile race. For $15, fourth and fifth graders can run one mile. A $20 registration fee is required for the two-mile race for sixth, seventh and eighth graders. There will also be an open wave two-mile race. On race day, all of these registration fees will increase $5.
The Fit Fest will take place at 2:00 pm on December 7 at Myers Park High School, located on 2400 Colony Road.Get a Free Quote for Books
