Gala raises funds to help female veterans

The 3rd annual A Hero’s B.A.L.L. Spring Gala is taking place this month in Charlotte.

This event is black tie, restricted to those aged 21 and over, and only 100 seats will be available for purchase. The evening will start off with a networking reception with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. It will then be followed by a sit-down dinner, several speakers, musical entertainment, and dancing. The special guest speakers for this year’s gala are Aretha V. Blake, Commander David L. Graves, Jr., and Ericka L. McKnight, who is also the emcee.

Those attending are asked to bring canned food donations which will be passed on to the 2nd Harvest Food Bank.

A Hero’s B.A.L.L. is dedicated to helping veterans, especially female and single parents, in Mecklenburg County. The organization provides resources, education, workshops, and networking opportunities. Its motto is ‘Building around Life’s Lessons’.

To help ensure that events such as these are a success, Charlotte printing companies occasionally provide items such as printed invitations that are mailed out to the community at large.

The Spring Gala will take place at the Knight Gallery at Spirit Square on July 16, beginning at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $30 each or $50 for two, while VIP tables of eight are available for $240. A DVD of the event can also be purchased for $25. Call 704-712-7516 for more information.
