Charlotte undergoing period of rapid population expansion

The state has recently experienced a boom in its population, and according to the U.S. Census Bureau, a large part of this is due to the expansion of urban areas, such as Charlotte.

Numbers indicate that North Carolina has passed the 10 million population mark, which makes it the ninth most populated state. The director of Carolina Demography at UNC-Chapel Hill’s Carolina Population Center, Rebecca Tippett, said nearly two thirds of this growth has occurred in the Charlotte and Triangle areas.

Experts in the field of demographics believe that many of those who come to the area are drawn by its bustling economy, good job prospects, warm climate, and everything else it is known for. Chuck McShane, who is the director of research at the Charlotte Chamber, says there has been an expansion of the technology, service, and financial sectors, which also has proven very attractive.

A company that makes Presentation Folders could design ones to be filled with information about the city and everything it can to offer new residents to Charlotte. These can be used to promote it to new businesses or people who may be considering relocating to the area.

While both McShane and Tippett feel that this growth is a good thing, they also pointed out that there needs to be adequate attention paid to ensuring there is the proper infrastructure, educational facilities, and zoning to accommodate the influx.
