Charlotte to go whole hog for BBQ festival

A Charlotte festival will see pitmasters from across the region put their skills to the test, as the Carolinas’ well-known love of barbecue comes to the fore.

The Carolina BBQ Festival will see groups of BBQ chefs come together to prepare food for the crowd, and they will be divided up so that they represent the three different regions that comprise Carolina barbecue. Three area charities that address local food poverty will benefit from the proceeds of the day, and the celebration will be casual and relaxed.

The ticketholders for the occasion will be able to choose which “region” they would like to patronize, and they will receive a plate filled with BBQ fare, as well as two sides and a beer pairing. Live music will keep everyone tapping their toes, and a vendor area will be set up for them to browse though. Wine, cocktails, and beer will also be available for purchase.

Festivals make for popular spring and summer traditions in many communities. A banner printing company will be able to help make them feel even more festive by creating a selection of themed decor.

Charlotte’s Camp North End will be going “whole hog” for the Carolina BBQ Festival on Sunday, May 22. The schedule for the afternoon runs from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
