The 'Art and Soul of Southend' will allow visitors to hop aboard Charlotte’s Rail Trail and get off at one of the 10 stops. There, attendees can enjoy live music and performances, food, art, and shopping.
Vendors will be out selling their original artwork and handmade goods. Fashion trucks will also be at various stops selling the latest trends. Desserts and other treats will be available for purchase too. No doubt some of the vendors have been in touch with a business card printing service to make cards to pass out at the event.
Visitors can stop off at the Sycamore Brewing Company for one of many folk music and dance acts from the Charlotte Folk Society. Attendees can also enjoy games, balloon artists, and a BMX bike expo. Throughout the event, street performers will be out and about sharing magic displays and guitar tunes.
Locals can watch a competition and enjoy food at the ‘Charlotte Food Fight’, where 15 of the area’s food trucks will go head-to-head to benefit the Relay for Life. There will also be a beer garden at this location.
All of the performances are free. The ‘Charlotte Food Fight’ costs $7 to eat at one truck, $18 for three trucks, $30 for seven trucks, and $55 to visit all of the trucks.
The event will take place tomorrow, May 2, from noon until 6:00 pm. The Food Fight will be held from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
