A Charlotte green space that offers refuge for birds and other wildlife will be opening its gates for a fall celebration, and both members and non-members can participate.
Tickets to the Harvest at the Haven are now on offer, and those who attend the festivities will be treated to a memorable experience. It will be for all ages, and one of the benefits of taking part is it will offer a sneak peek for the attendees into where the food on their table comes from.
The plans for the morning include time harvesting veggies in the venues’ beds, and once they have all been picked, the soil will be amended and made ready for the winter crop. Everyone will be able to try their hand at crafting one of the projects, and the little ones will have a chance to meet some bugs up close and personal.
The listing for the morning explained that seasonal treats will be served. Everyone is asked to be as generous as possible when bringing along a donation for the Second Harvest Food Bank, as these contributions will be collected and distributed to those in need. Print shops can prepare lists of items most needed by a food pantry, and these can be sent out to the public to help increase awareness.
The 2022 Harvest at the Haven will be held at the SEED Wildlife Garden on October 29.The fun will kick off at 10:00 am.
