Charlotte’s Historic Rosedale Plantation invites the public to bring their mother, or another special lady in their life, to its Hats Off to Mom exhibit.
The displays will feature a retrospective of women’s hats and other types of headwear, showing how they have changed through the 200 years since the plantation was first built. Throughout the home, there will be a variety of hats and other Forms of millinery on display, and information will be provided about the time period during which they were worn.
To mark the special exhibit, the facility will be displaying its green silk bonnet, which is a piece of textile that is among the oldest made in the local area. It will only be available for viewing by the public on the three days of the event. Printing services can be used to create signage and other decorations that can be use during events such as this.
All the ladies who come out to see the displays are invited to add to their festive air by wearing hats of their own. As a further way of saying thank you to moms for all they do, those who register on or before May 3 will receive a discount of 25% off their regular admission price.
The event takes place on May 5, 6, and 8. Further details can be found on the Historic Rosedale Plantation website.
