Creating an inviting landscape for a home or business often includes incorporating non-flowering species as design elements, and a workshop will offer an introduction to what is available when it comes to native sedges and grasses.
Utilizing native plants offers many benefits, as they are well adapted to local growing conditions, pests, and diseases. Dr. Shannon Currey will share her expertise during the two-and-a-half-hour session. While it is intended for members of Charlotte Garden Club, the general public is welcome so long as space allows.
The activity will introduce a variety of native grasses and sedges, and choosing the right ones for a particular location and landscaping purpose will be included in the discussion. The attendees will learn how they may be useful for erosion control and rain gardens, and everyone will be encouraged to ask questions.
A workshop or other learning activity may benefit from the services of a brochure printing company. It can prepare learning materials to hand out to the participants, as well as promotional Pens and other swag.
The Charlotte Garden Club has made arrangements to host this introduction to the joys of going native when it comes to sedges and grasses on March 20. It will be offered at 2730 Randolph Road, and the ticket price has been set at $10 for the general public.
