Charlotte reaches out to those with Turner syndrome

Women with Turner syndrome, as well as their parents and other adult family members and educators, are invited to attend an event that will help them learn how to navigate through social situations with greater ease.

The session, which has been organized by Turner Syndrome Carolinas, will be facilitated by Dr. Dean Mooney. He will be providing information about nonverbal learning disorders and also social awareness. Part of the day will be dedicated to giving people skills in these areas that they can use in their daily lives, whether this is at school, home, or work. Dr. Mooney is an expert in the field of how non-learning disorder and social awareness issues can affect those who are also affected by Turner syndrome.

The workshop has been designed for adults only, and the admission price will be $10 each. The ticket price includes the cost of lunch, and scholarships can be provided to those who are experiencing financial difficulties. Presentation Folders can be designed and printed to be filled with information about the topics being discussed that can be helpful to those who take part in the day’s activities.

Saturday, May 6 has been selected as the date for the function, which will run from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm in Charlotte. Additional details and an opportunity to register to participate are both available on the organizer’s website.
