Working with food can help kids develop confidence in an assortment of areas, and a Charlotte summer camp option will bring young people into the kitchen.
The Kids Culinary Camp hosted by Chef Alyssa’s is celebrating seven years, and it will be held in the newly dedicated cooking space at Lower South End’s Bowers. Dishes will incorporate locally sourced ingredients when possible, teaching the youngsters how to create meals that are both tasty and nutritious.
Parents who plan on registering their child are asked to make sure the kids have some previous experience in the kitchen, and on the final day of each weekly session, moms and dads will be invited to stop by and observe their child at work. They will also be treated to a freshly prepared lunch.
The children who register for the cookery camp for the first time will receive an apron printed with a special graphic design. Those who are returning will be given a different corporate gift to thank them for getting involved in the activity.
The first session of the 2021 Chef Alyssa’s Culinary Camp will run from June 14 to 18. It will begin at 9:00 am each day, and wrap up at 1:00 pm. The cost per weekly session is $425, and a daily light snack will be offered to each participant.
