Aspiring artisans and potters will want to note in their Journals that an educational experience is coming to the Queen City next month.
The Introduction to the Pottery Wheel course has an official date in the Books. It will provide local artists with an opportunity to get their hands dirty while learning several techniques for using the pottery wheel. Danny Blumfield, a ceramics expert with over 20 years of experience using pottery wheels, will lead the class. He is a Carolina Clay Matters pottery guild member and works at Penland Craft School.
The class will be spread across six sessions and will include a combination of demonstrations, hands-on learning, and individual work to help students gain confidence and grow their skills. Brochure printing is an effective and efficient way to share information and tips with students who attend such events.
Students are expected to clean their pottery wheels, tools, and workspaces at the end of the class. Enrollees will also enjoy access to the studio to work on ceramics projects when other members are present. The classes are open to interested parties 16 and up, and appropriate clothing is required for safety.
The classes will be held at MakerSpace Charlotte starting on Wednesday, January 8th, at 6:00 PM. Online enrollment is open for interested students, and the cost is $225 for all sessions.
