Neighborhood board retreat planned for Charlotte

An event has been planned to bring representatives of Charlotte business and neighborhood organizations together to learn and share best practices.

The City of

Charlotte neighborhood and Business Services (NBS) will be hosting a board retreat. During the series of meetings and workshops, it will offer participants an opportunity to find new ways to assess the current state of their communities, determine their goals and then develop action plans that will make it possible for them to reach them.

All merchant, neighborhood and business associations in the Charlotte city limits are welcome, and they are also invited to bring along any stakeholders that they feel may help them to reach the goals they have set. Each group is permitted to send up to 15 representatives.

Those who attend will receive an assortment of benefits including a Quality of Life Explorer report that has been customized for them, guidance in strategic planning, support from experts in the field of community resources, help with idea development and also networking opportunities. A Neighborhood Matching Grant of $1,500 will also be given to neighborhoods that qualify. Presentation Folders can be given to each participant that contain information they can use both during the retreat and after it is over.
