Museum ends month with lawn party

Families in Charlotte can enjoy a special event at a local museum.

The 4th Annual Party in the Park will take place on the Mint Museum Randolph’s front lawn. Along with stargazing, guests can play outdoor games or take funny pictures in the photo booth.

Attendees can also pack a picnic, grab a meal from one of the food trucks, or sip on a drink from the cash bar. Afterwards, they will be able to enjoy live entertainment from the Mike Strauss Band. When the sun sets, guests can watch the movie ‘The Sandlot’.

Visitors can also go inside and view one of the museum’s permanent collections, such as ‘Art of the Ancient Americas’. It is likely the museum used brochure printers in Charlotte to make trifold handouts to highlight its diverse art. The Brochures could contain glossy photos and a short explanation of each collection.

Admission is free, but a $10 donation is recommended. Individuals need to register online. For $100, individuals or organizations can become a picnic sponsor. Sponsors will be recognized and given a special surprise at the event.

The event will benefit the Mint Annual Fund, which supports the museum’s educational programs, exhibits, community outreach, and other efforts. Contributions are tax deductible.

The party will get started on May 27 at 6:30 pm. The Mint Museum Randolph is located on 2730 Randolph Road.
