A festival is in the works in Charlotte next month, and fans of the classic margarita cocktail will want to save the date to celebrate with like-minded individuals.
The Charlotte Margarita Festival, organized by the International Margarita Organization, is preparing to welcome fans of the beverage to ground-zero of a competition between vendors and restaurants from around the Queen City. The event is built around a tasting competition, with plenty else to enjoy upon arriving at the host venue.
Organizers are expecting over 2,500 margarita lovers to join this year’s event, all of whom will act as judges to pick the best margarita in the competition. Upon arrival, each attendee will receive ten 3.5-ounce margarita samples from Charlotte’s top restaurants and bars. The winning restaurant or bar at the competition will be awarded $1,000 for their efforts. Guests will enjoy music from a live DJ during the festival, and street vendors will provide access to snacks and meals. Suffolk Punch Brewing South End in Charlotte will host the margarita festival on Saturday, July 19. Doors open at noon, and tickets are available online for $25.03 per attendee.
