Residents can learn a little more about nature later this week at the Charlotte Nature Museum.
The Nature Trading Project invites individuals to find a natural object and bring it into the museum’s trading post. Here, they can talk to a naturalist about the item. By learning, talking, and swapping nature’s objects, participants can earn points and use these points for a new natural item.
Along with the trading event, the museum is also preparing to host several events where visitors can learn and sometimes get up close and personal with animals. Storytimes, weekend adventures, and 'Wild Wednesdays' are some of the other ways guests can interact with nature.
The Charlotte Nature Center has a variety of exhibits that encourage exploration and hand-ons learning. To showcase all of the programs and events, the nature center may have asked brochure printers to make a trifold handout explaining all the museum has to offer.
Entrance to the museum costs $8 for both adults and children. Kids of under two years of age are free and there are also military and group discounts. Membership options include a family membership for $130, individual membership for $55, and an educator pass for $110. There are also multiple museum and add-on options.
The trading takes place in the Great Hall on January 25 at 12:30 pm. The Nature Museum is located on 1658 Sterling Road.
