The 7th annual Charlotte Challenge: The Ultimate Urban Scavenger Race is taking place next month in Charlotte, and will be presented by Challenge Nation.
The concept of the challenge is similar to the ‘Amazing Race’ television show. Contestants will be given a clue sheet and will travel around the city to find more clues. Teams consist of two or more players who must find 11 out of 12 clues. Each participant will also receive a souvenir bib number and bottled water. The first five finishers will be eligible to receive cash or gift card prizes; first gets $200 and the top family gets $50. These five will qualify for the National Championship Race that takes place in New Orleans and comes with a prize of $5,000.
After the event, the after-party will have musical entertainment, an awards ceremony, and a costume contest with a prize of $50.
Organizers are looking for volunteers to help participants along the way and to host after-party activities.
It is likely that a Charlotte Stationery printing firm may be asked to Print out the clues that contestants must collect.
The Charlotte Challenge: The Ultimate Urban Scavenger Race will take place all over downtown Charlotte on August 21. Registration begins at 12:45 pm and the race begins at 2:00 pm. Participation fees are $55 per person. Visit the Challenge Nation website for more information.
