With 100 stores featuring high-quality name and designer brands, the Charlotte Premium Outlets recently opened in the Matthews area bringing with it upscale shopping with large reductions off retail prices.
Several of the stores in the Outlet are unique to the Charlotte area and include Cole Haan, White House Black Market, ASICS Outlet, Movado Company Stor,e and Steve Madden. There are also popular brands including Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, the Nike Factory Store ,and Reebok.
According to Mark Silvesti, COO of Simon Premium Outlets (which is a retail real estate company and developer of the new function), the site is offering 25% to 65% savings on fashion labels in an environment that is both lively and friendly. The stores have created 900 jobs for the Charlotte community and he believes this will have a positive economic impact on the area in general. Catalog and flyer printing companies in the area might also reap the benefits of the new outlets by being called upon to create directories and maps of the new stores and their products.
Tom Murray, CEO of Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority, added that one of the top reasons why visitors come to Charlotte is for the shopping. He added that having the popular and luxury brands in the Outlets will complement the existing landscape of shops, restaurants, and other attractions that have motivated travelers to come to the area.
