Charlotte workshop to help new not-for-profits thrive

Anyone who is considering starting their own nonprofit group may want to make plans to sit in on a Charlotte workshop scheduled for this fall, as it might help them hit the ground running.

Those who attend the workshop, planned by Credit and Not for Profit Professionals, will walk away with a better understanding of how to get a not-for-profit organization up and running. It will cover a wide range of topics related to starting and maintaining a 501(c)3 charity, and will start at ground level.

The participants in the session will learn how to choose a name for their group and also what sorts of funding streams are available to them. They will explore compliance with the current government regulations and requirements, and will discuss such topics as insurance, taxes, and how to build membership levels.

Along with all of the other tips, the registrants will have a chance to explore the fundraising side of their organization. They will be welcome to stop by displays set up by vendors that offer Promotional Products and other outside-the-box fundraisers, and this is all being offered free of charge.

Home2 Suites, which can be found at 625 McCullough Drive in Charlotte, will be hosting this learning opportunity on Saturday, November 9. The workshop is scheduled to start at 10:00 am.
