Charlotte workshop to explore Aspergers Syndrome and HFA

A workshop that will help to remove some of the mystery is set to be held in Charlotte, and parents, professionals and members of the public may find it helpful. There has been a lot of talk about Asperger’s syndrome and high functioning autism (HFA) , but many may not really understand what these terms really mean.

The session, which will be conducted in both English and Spanish, will be facilitated by Autism Resource Specialist Nancy Nestor.

During the event, there will be a review of the characteristics of Asperger’s Syndrome and high functioning autism, and it will be explored from both a male and female perspective. The group will discuss how these issues can impact an individual’s social skills and learning styles, and the session will wrap up with a discussion about the different resources that exist in the community to support both autistic individuals and their families.

This sort of function will often see a lot of information being shared, and the attendees may wish to jot down any points they feel are especially important. Distributing note pads and promotional Pens can help with this, and these can be obtained from a company that crafts Promotional Products.

This workshop, which has been organized by the Autism Society of North Carolina, will be taking place on December 5th. It will be offered at 6212 Tuckaseegee Road. The tickets price is $10.00 for parents, while professionals are asked to pay $20.00, and certification credits may be available.
