While this year's harvest time may be months away, a Charlotte venue is already getting ready for a harvest-themed celebration.
The SEED Wildlife and Children’s Garden wants area families to know that its annual Harvest at the Haven is on the way, and it will be filled with activities that showcase the importance of sustainability and good environmental stewardship. The kids who participate in the session will get hands-on experience, and it is aimed at youngsters aged 10 and under, as well as their families.
The day will see the attendees engage in a variety of tasks associated with this time of the year, such as picking vegetables, putting the garden to end for the winter, and searching for worms and other garden helpers. There will be crafts to make, and refreshments will be supplied to the adults and kids alike.
To ensure this activity helps both the human and natural world, a collection of canned and other non-perishable food items will be taken for the Second Harvest Food Bank. Sponsorship for the occasion has been provided by Peaceful Ponds and Soil3, and the Logo Design of both are included in its website listing to thank them for the assistance.
This year’s Harvest at the Haven will be held on October 28th. The activity is set to begin at 10:00 am.
