Charlotte reindeer antics to address nonprofit cause

Charlotte locals can don a pair of reindeer antlers and take part in a holiday-themed run.

The ‘Jingle Bell Run and Walk’ encourages participants to put on their best holiday costumes and then raise money for arthritis. Individuals may also tie bells onto their shoelaces. Flyer printing services are often utilized to spread the word about events like this.

For the timed 5K race, registration costs $30 for adults and $20 for children aged 12 and under. A one-mile fun run costs $25. Those who want to help but are not interested or able to participate in the race can volunteer or donate to the cause.

Anyone who raises an additional $30 on top of their registration fee will be given a headband. Additional fundraising incentive prizes, such as digital cameras, are also available.

The Arthritis Foundation is hosting the race. The nonprofit aims to eliminate pain caused by arthritis, pointing out that the condition affects one out of five people. The money raised from the race will go to fund research and help families advocate for arthritis in Washington DC.

The 'Jingle Bell Run and Walk' will take place on December 6 at the Blakeney Shopping Center, located on 9800 Rea Road. Event day registration and packet pick up starts at 7:00 am. Opening ceremonies start at 8:00 am followed by the 5K at 8:15 am.
