Charlotte rally to raise awareness of mental health

Mental illness can affect people of any age, and there may still be a stigma attached to mental health related issues. Community support can make a huge difference, and West Charlotte High School will be showing the world it takes good mental health seriously.

During an event that has been planned to shine a spotlight on mental health, the school will be hosting an afternoon that will include guest speakers and other learning opportunities. Both students and educators alike will be able to learn the facts about this aspect of their health and also what they can do to support others.

The plans for the afternoon include entertainment, food and there will also be giveaways and a chance to learn. Both boys and girls are welcome to participate, and educators will be able to gather publications that can help them to add to their knowledge in the field. Several vendors will be taking part, and giveaways of Corporate Gifts are also on the agenda. The doors will be open to the attendees starting at 11:30 am.

By showing those who are living with mental illness that they have the support of their community, a rally style function like this can go a long way towards “stamping out the stigma”. There is no cost the take part, and as it will be held on a Saturday afternoon, the planners hope that anyone who wishes to attend will be able to do so

The Mental Health Rally Explosion will be raising awareness of mental illness on March 21st. All are welcome to come and help stamp out the stigma.
