The Community Culinary School of Charlotte was recently chosen to be the recipient of a distinguished award.
Every year for the past seven years, Tom’s of Maine selects winners in its 50 States of Good program, and this year, the school was the winner for all of North Carolina. It is one of 52 programs that were chosen because of its work to provide a benefit for its local community.
As a recognition for being chosen, the institution will be given a cash prize of $20,000, which it will use to help fund its training program in Workforce Development.
The Community Culinary model provides training for those who have had issues with joblessness due to different reasons, including lack of education in the field. They are made ready for employment in the food service industry.
The program first began on Distribution Street, and then moved on to Graylen Office Park. It currently has plenty of room for hands-on instruction, as well as the latest equipment. There is also a bakery and even a small café that offers a varying lunch menu and Encore Catering service that can be called on for special events. Digital Business Cards with the organizations contact information can be distributed throughout the area to let people know who to call when they need help from one of the program’s graduates.
Tom’s of Maine is a company that produces natural products, largely for personal care. Each year, it donates 10% of its profits to a variety of organizations that help people, communities, and the environment. Get a Free Quote for Business Cards
