Charlotte does the shuffle

  • 2015-08-29
Athletes in Charlotte can put on their running shoes to support a good cause and improve the community.

The 2nd Annual South End Shuffle 5K will take participants along the Rail Trail pathway in South End Charlotte. There will also be a one-mile fun run.

The race will benefit the The Purple Promise Foundation, a nonprofit organization that raises awareness for melanoma. It will also aid the development of South End’s Rail Trail, a 3.3-mile trail that the community hopes to turn into a public park with gardens, artwork, and more.

Awards will be given to the top three overall finishers in each gender and age group. It is likely Stationery printers were asked to create awards for the event.

Registration costs $30 for the 5K and $10 for the fun run. On race day, the price goes up $5. The 5K registration includes a free beer for those who are aged 21 and over, with proper identification.

Packet pickup will take place on September 18 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Inside Out Sports, located on 1514 South Church Street #102.

The 5K begins on September 19 at 6:00 pm followed by the fun run at 6:45 pm. Event day registration and packet pickup starts at 4:30 pm.

The race starts on Camden Drive. Parking is available along the street.
