Mental health issues impact an estimated one in four Americans, and an annual Charlotte event is seeking to change stigmas surrounding them. Its organizers are hoping that, once again, it will receive strong support from the public.
One of the main goals of the “Let’s Talk About it Walk” is to encourage an open dialogue about mental illness while showing solidarity and support to those who have been affected by one, either in themselves or a friend or family member. It will also offer a vendor alley where those who plan on walking can meet with representative of companies that promote good mental health.
The morning will begin with check-in at 8:30 am, and the vendor area will be ready for visitors at 9:00 am. After this, there will be a free sessions of yoga, so those who bring along their mat will be able to stretch and go through some poses before they set out, and the walk itself has been scheduled for 10:30 am.
To help ensure that this event will once again be a success, the planners are offering opportunities for sponsors and local companies to participate. To thank a business or group that chooses to get behind an event like this, the organizers can include their Logo Design on the assorted Promotional Products prepared for the function by a local printer.
This chance to enjoy a springtime walk while making a difference when it comes to mental health has been arranged for May 18. The location for the activity will be Reedy Creek Park.
