Basketball camp helps Charlotte youth elevate skills

A basketball camp sponsored by the Charlotte Hornets is being planned for this summer, and area parents with children who enjoy basketball are encouraged to start the enrollment process.

The Hornets Hoops Player Camp, presented by Myers Park Presbyterian Outreach, will open its doors to area youth who want to develop their basketball skills under the guidance of professional players and coaches. The four-day camp is open to children aged 7 to 14 years old and will feature several drills designed to teach new skills and enhance existing ones.

The camp will feature appearances by the team’s players and other special guests, and enrollees will participate in a mix of drills and five-on-five basketball games. Skills the instructors will focus on include shooting mechanics, ball handling, rebounding, footwork, and the mental approach to the game. Flyer printing is an excellent grassroots method for promoting such events and increasing enrollment in the local community.

All coaches at the camp have extensive playing and coaching experience at the college level and beyond. Participants will receive a Hornets swag bag as part of enrollment, which features two ticket vouchers, a Hornets jersey and shorts, and a Gatorade bottle.

The camp will be hosted by the Myers Outreach Presbyterian Outreach Center starting on Monday, June 16th, at 9:00 AM. Registration costs $425.39 per child and can be arranged online.
