Locals from Charlotte can lace up their running shoes and start training for two races.
The 6th Annual ‘OrthoCarolina 10K Classic’ is coming to the North Carolina city. The event also features a 5K and a kids’ dash. The 5K and 10K chip-timed courses both go in a loop. Participants can walk or run in the 5K.
After the race, participants can check out the ‘United Healthcare expo’ where there will be beer samples, food trucks, and exhibitors. Sponsors will also have some great giveaways. It’s likely printing companies in the area were asked to include sponsors' names on promotional materials.
Registration costs $35 for the 5K and $40 for the 10K - the kids’ dash is free. On August 1, the price goes up $5. Those who register before August 12 will be guaranteed a t-shirt, custom bibs, and a pint glass. Participants will get a finisher’s medal. Awards will be given to the top three males and females in each age group.
Packet pickup will be held on August 21 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on race day at 6:30 am at OrthoCarolina Sports Medicine.
It all takes place on August 22 with the 5K beginning at 7:30 am followed by the 10K at 7:45 am. The kids dash will kick off at 9:15 am.
The race will start and end at OrthoCarolina Sports Medicine, located on 1915 Randolph Road.
