St. Charles takes a tour through lights

St. Charles will have the option to drive or walk through Celebration of Lights opening soon.

Celebration of Lights is a series of illuminative displays that have been created and sponsored by local businesses and other organizations. Over 10,000 vehicles pass through the event every year.

The Drive Through will be on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Traffic will not be allowed on Mondays.

Reservations will be required for the 20-minute train rides that will take place on Mondays. Time slots begin at 5:45 pm and the last ones will be at 8:45 pm.

Horse drawn carriage rides will be available daily, lasting 30 minutes, and will require reservations in advance. The 15-passenger trolley will be available Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for 30-minute rides too, and these also require reservations.

The Old-Fashioned Holiday Stroll will be December 9 and 10 from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm. Here, pedestrians may bring wheelchairs, wagons, walkers, and strollers to walk along the lighted path, talk to Santa, and listen to holiday music. Nonprofit organizations will be selling holiday food and gifts. Passersby can usually acquire Business Cards from their favorite vendors at events like this. A fireworks show will begin at 7:25 pm.

Celebration of Lights will starts this Friday, November 29, and runs through December 30 in Fort Zumwalt Park in O’Fallon.
