Every year in mid-January everyone in the St. Charles area gets ready for the Loop Ice Carnival. The event is precluded by the annual Snow Ball.
The 13th annual Frozen Buns Run will be a 5k and 10k family-friendly run on a fast course. Both races will be professionally times, and USATF sanctioned. Snacks, awards for age group, distance and overall and music will greet runners at the finish line. Runners can run alongside and get their pictures taken with the race penguins.
The carnival itself will be the following day. Live ice carving demos, human snow globes, over 50 ice sculptures, and Zip Flute Zipline will be part of the outdoor fun. Kids can play ice games, glide down ice slides and ride the Ferris wheel. Jugglers, stilt walkers and fire performers will be meandering through the venue. There will be plenty of photo opportunities throughout the site.
Pictures taken during these activities can be included in the Loop’s Visitor Guide brochure printing.
The Snow Ball will be at the Moonrise Hotel January 18 from 7 pm until 11 pm.
The 2019 Frozen Bens Run will be Saturday, January 19th starting at 10 am at Blueberry Hill in the University City Delmar Loop.
Ice Carnival will be Saturday, January 19th from 7 am until 11 pm and Sunday 20th from noon until 6 pm at the Loop Ice Carnival at the Delmar Loop, 6504 Delmar Blvd, University City.
