Library trustees met in a private session with their choice for interim CEO being decided after a 4-2 vote in favor of Tiffany Barke, the former Chief Administrative Officer. Her appointment was supported by Renee Tillman and other relatively new board members such as Cindy Giordano, David Zucker, and Dan Manternach. On the other hand, Matthew Seeds and Justin Collier, who are experienced board members, opposed her appointment. Two members abstained from voting.
Jason Kuhl’s position has been taken up by Barke who was the previous chief administrative officer. Kuhl vacated the post following his election as the chief executive officer of a library system in Oklahoma.
Seeds, the board president, commented:
"The board will be involved to provide oversight during this interim period to ensure that the district will continue to thrive during this transition to our more permanent leadership. All of us are focused on effectively addressing and resolving some contentious issues in recent months.”
In 2019, Barke became the chief talent officer at the library, and in 2022, he was elevated to chief administrative officer. Executives starting in new roles usually require business card printing before they start.
The library put out a statement that said that it has officially started the process of finding a new CEO.
