The St. Charles County Spring Chicken Bike Ride will take place early in April. This will be the first ride of the year for the Bicycle Fun Club. Riders of all abilities are invited to come along.
A harbinger of spring around here, the bike ride will take cyclists on a tour of scenic St. Charles County. The route will be an easy flat ride over backroads along the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers. Riders may choose from 3, 24, 40 and 55-mile rides. There will be a celebration after the race at the Streets of St. Charles. Registration can be carried out online and will be $12.
The event is being put on by Trailnet, a St. Louis biking organization dedicated to fostering walking, use of public transportation, and cycling to maintain active, healthy communities in our area. The organization, aside from setting up cycling events, is also involved in advocacy, bike safety education and planning with city officials to create more feasible biking and walking paths.
Trailnet has socks and tees sporting the event’s Logo Design available online.
