St. Charles Christmas Traditions still on tap for December

The annual St. Charles Christmas Traditions, with some modifications, will still usher in this year’s holiday season.

Santa arrives at the Kister Park gazebo at 11:00 am on opening day November 29. He will be accompanied by Mrs. Claus, the Lewis and Clark Fife and Drum Corp, and the Legends of Christmas.

The Santa Parade, from 1000 South Main Street to the Tourism Center Parking lot on the corner of Riverside and First Capitol, will be that afternoon and on the weekends at 1:30 pm. The Holiday Talent Hoopla – with entries such as comedy, mind reading, ventriloquism and interpretive dance – will take place after each parade behind the Visitors Center.

The Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place in Berthold Square on November 29 at 5:00 pm.

Katy Depot will present “Oh , Christmas Tree: The Evolution of an Icon,” and a Krampus Karnival on Fridays and Wednesdays beginning at 6:00 pm and winding down around 9:00 pm. It will also be the location of Santa’s workshop, mailroom, and the Reindeer Hall of Fame.

Towns that go all out with seasonal events like this often have pictures taken that can become part of the town’s visitor guide brochure printing.

Our 45th Annual St. Charles Christmas Traditions festival will be Sundays from noon until 5:00 pm, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm, and Saturdays from noon until 9:00 pm from November 27 through December 24 on St. Charles Main Street.
