A competitive event will feature an evening of roller derby action with the goal of raising funds for charity.
Skatesgiving 2024 schedule will consist of three scrimmages. The first one will be Rookie Rumble which is aimed at those who have less than one year’s experience in either bouting or scrummage with only positional blocking allowed. The second match will involve skaters at the B/C Level meaning they have been playing derby for at least one but not more than three years. The third one is for advanced skaters who fall under category A/B Level and have a minimum of three years of experience in bouts or scrimmages.
Each skater will pay $25 for participating in any of these scrimmages and this amount includes one event shirt. The skaters are required to complete their registrations and payments in advance as there will be no processing for any walk-up registrations. On each side, the teams are limited to a total of 15 players making thirty skaters at most per game. Should any game be full, a waitlist will be started.
St. Chux Derby Crew’s biggest event every year is Skatesgiving, which brings together roller derby and community support activities. Poster printing is a popular way of advertising such events.
The St. Chux Derby Crew will host its second annual fundraiser and food drive in conjunction with Skatesgiving 2024 on Sunday, November 17th at Steel Shop Athletics & Events in St. Charles.
