Saint Charles residents are counting down the days until this year’s annual Octoberfest which will be coming at the end of September. The three-day festival will feature bands, an antique car show, a brat eating contest, a wiener dog race and 1 Mile, 5K and 10K runs.
Mayor Sally Faith will officially open the festival Friday September 27th starting at 6:00 pm at the Hofbrau Bier Garden. The festival will have children’s area and live entertainment on six stages.
Fast Lane will sponsor the Saint Charles Oktoberfest’s 9th Annual Wiener Dog Derby on Saturday, September 28th. Races will begin at 12:30 pm. Dachshunds will be divided into three categories based on age. Each registration will come with a Wiener Dog Race t-shirt.
The Kenrick’s Brat Eating contest will be in the Hofbrau tent Saturday, September 28th starting at 4:00 pm.
Academy Sports + Outdoors is presenting this year’s Saint Charles Oktoberfest 10K, 5K and 1 Mile Root Beer Run. The 5K and 10K runs will start at 8:30 am on Sunday, September 29th near Jefferson on Riverside. All racers will get finisher’s medals and themed shirts sporting the event’s Logo Design. After the race runners can enjoy root beer, water and participants over 21 can get one free adult beverage using the ticket on their bibs.
Saint Charles Oktoberfest will be from September 27th until the 29th in Frontier Park, downtown Saint Charles between the Historic Downtown District and the Missouri River.
