Roller derby to raise money for charity in St. Charles

In a bid to engage the local community and bolster charitable efforts, the St. Louis County Derby Chix (SCDC) is set to host their first annual fundraiser and food drive.

The event, promising an evening of dynamic roller derby competitions, caters to a wide range of skill levels, and three distinct scrimmages will unfold at the event.

The Rookie Rumble is tailored for participants with under a year of bout or scrimmage experience, focusing exclusively on positional blocking. Following this, the B/C Level scrimmage is designed for individuals with 1-3 years of experience, while the A/B Level scrimmage is open to seasoned skaters with 3 or more years in the field.

Each game requires a $25 registration fee, inclusive of a commemorative event shirt. Advance registration and payment are mandatory, as on-site sign-ups will not be accommodated. With a cap of 15 players per side per game, accommodating a total of 30 skaters, participants have the option to engage in multiple scrimmages, provided they meet qualifications and pay additional fees.

A waitlist will be initiated if required. Printing services can be used to promote local events like this one.

SCDC urges attendees to contribute non-perishable food items, emphasizing a collective commitment to community welfare. All food donations gathered during the event will directly benefit the St. Louis Area Foodbank, amplifying the charitable impact of the evening.

The fundraiser is scheduled for November 12th in St. Charles, Missouri.
