Oktoberfest comes to St. Charles

The three-day Saint Charles Oktoberfest is coming to Frontier Park toward the end of September.

The festival will begin at Hofbrau Bier Garten on Friday, September 25 at 6:00 pm, with the traditional tapping of the keg done by Saint Charles Mayor Dan Borgmeyer.

On Saturday, starting at 4:00 pm, the annual Kenrick’s Brat Eating Contest will begin in the Hofbrau tent. An assortment of memorabilia from this year’s Oktoberfest will go to the winner.

Dachshunds will be lining up for their own Saint Charles Oktoberfest Wiener Takes All Dog Derby starting at 12:30 pm on Saturday, September 26. The three racing categories will be Lil’ Smokies (puppies), Hot Dogs (adult dogs), and Franks (older ones). Wiener Dog Race shirts will be available for $10.

On Sunday morning, at 8:30 am, Academy Sports and Outdoors will sponsor the annual Saint Charles Oktoberfest 5K and 10K race. The course will begin near the Lewis and Clark Boat House on Riverside Drive and end back near the boat house on the Katy Trail. Swag will include finisher’s medals and shirts featuring the event graphic design.

The 34th Annual Antique Car Show, located on South Main Street, will begin at noon on Sunday and end at 4:30 pm. Stock cars manufactured up to 1995 will be on display.

Saint Charles Oktoberfest will run from Friday September 25 through Sunday, September 27 in Frontier Park, 500 S Riverside Drive.
