St. Charles will be hosting Oktoberfest in just over a week’s time
The Saint Charles Oktoberfest Opening Ceremony will take place at the Hofbrau Bier Garten on the day. Six stages throughout the venue will showcase polka bands, German dancers, singers, and glockenspiel performances. There will also be classic rock and country artists.
The stages will also feature the Fastlane Wiener Takes All Dog Race at 12:30 pm and Kenrick’s Meat & Catering Brat Eating Contest at 4:00 pm on the first day, and the Sam Adam’s Raise the Stein Championship at 5:00 pm on the second day.
The Saint Charles Oktoberfest 5K, 10K and Root Beer One Mile Fun Run will begin at the Jaycee 7-UP Stage starting at 8:30 am on the final day. That afternoon will also see an antique car show take place on Main Street. Anyone with an old vehicle is invited to register between 9:00 am and noon. Sometimes, proud owners enjoy having their pictures taken with their cars for poster printing.
Another event will be Sunday Funday, where there will be kids’ games and activities for youngsters.
St. Charles Oktoberfest will be Friday, September 28 from 4:00 pm until 11:00 pm; Saturday September 29 from 10:00 am until 11:00 pm; and Sunday, September 30 from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm in Frontier Park, 500 S. Riverside Drive between the Historic Downtown District and the Missouri River. Free shuttle service will be available from the EPC parking lot at 3941 Harry W. Truman Blvd.
