Local traditional Irish Fest set for the fall

The 16th Annual Missouri River Irish Festival has been scheduled for later in September. The event will again be a celebration of all things Irish.

Specific areas around the venue will include dancing, music, and cultural exhibits. The Children’s Village will contain Irish-themed games, other activities and crafts for kids. A Wee Village will feature activities especially for babies and toddlers. Irish Wolfhounds will be on exhibit and cold drinks will be available for purchase.

Vendors will be vending merchandise with an Irish flair. They will be selling items such as handcrafted pewter, Celtic jewelry, gifts, clothing, drinking horns, kilts, and dragon and fairy figurines.

Food vendors will offer food such as kabobs, chicken wings, corn dogs, gyros, and pulled pork sandwiches. Novelty vendors will have shaved ice, root beer floats, waffle cones, and fudge slices.

Local bands that may be returning this year include Keltic Reign, The People’s, Rusty Nail, Celtica, The Red-Headed Strangers, We Are Pirates, Inc and the Irish Aires. Clarkson School of Irish Dance and the Shamrock Irish Dancers will most likely return also. Fans usually like to see if bands have any Promotional Products with them available for purchase.
