Zoo set to brighten up the festive season
Wild Lights is returning to the St. Louis Zoo for the holidays.
The annual display is a family-friendly event where thousands of lights are placed throughout the zoo grounds to welcome the festive season.
Wild Lights features hundreds of thousands of lights that have been carefully arranged to create the likes of a fantasy butterfly garden, a gingerbread village, and a snowfall walk. Popular exhibits, such as the Insectarium and Polar Bear Point, are open during the show. The Lakeside Café will be serving hot chocolate and other goodies, and the gift shops will remain open for those who want to do a little zoo-themed holiday shopping.
Although most of the attractions at the zoo are free, there is a charge for Wild Lights. On weekdays, the charge is $7 for members of the zoo and $8 for the public, while on weekends the rates go up slightly, to $9 for members and $10 for the public. Admission for children under two is free, and the latest visitors can buy tickets is 8:00 pm. Parking is free.
This year, the dates are November 25 through 27, November 30 through December 4, December 7 through 11, December 14 through 23, and December 26 through 30, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. each night.
Organizations like this can benefit by working with postcard printing companies, which can create cards for area-wide mailings, announcing events.
