St. Louis bar to organize spirits-themed festival

Monstera Mezcaleria will hold a festival in St. Louis this September to celebrate traditional Mexican spirits.

Copita: Mexican Spirits Week is a two-part event where people can learn about traditional Mexican alcohol and sample different brands. The first part of the festival is a seminar about sustainability in agave production. Attendees will get to try ten different spirits during the event while they hear from a panel of industry professionals. The hosts of the presentation will include Francisco Terrazas, Diana Pinzón, and Andres Cruz. Guests will learn about agricultural practices and how agave-based spirits are produced.

The second event in the festival is Copita: A Festival of Traditional Mexican Spirits. The program lets attendees try unlimited samples of Mexican alcohol brands at Das Bevo in St. Louis. Many companies will participate in the tasting experience, like Real Minero, Uruapan Rum, and Tequila Ocho. There will be educational stations run by brand representatives where people can learn more about the products. Guests can also try natural wines and liqueurs from Mexico at the fest.

The presentation on agave sustainability will be held on Saturday, September 20th from noon to 3:00 pm. Tickets to the lecture will cost $48.83. The tasting festival will take place on Sunday, September 21st from noon to 4:00 pm. General admission is $65 per person, and VIP access to the fest is $100.
