St. Louis to honor Tennessee Williams with festival
The Grandel in St. Louis will organize a festival in August that celebrates the famous playwright Tennessee Williams.
The 10th Annual Tennessee Williams Festival is a community experience where people can participate in themed events and watch a live performance of A Streetcar Named Desire. Attendees may go on a walking tour of the Central West End to visit neighborhood landmarks related to the Williams family. There will also be a Stella Shouting Contest in the courtyard at The Grandel. People can even attend panels led by Carrie Houk and Austin Pendleton.
Companies can improve their visibility at the Tennessee Williams Festival by paying for advertising spaces in the event program. Businesses can reserve a full page in the booklet for $1,000. Stores that want half-page ad slots may pay $500, and shops interested in quarter-page ads can pay $250. Companies can also purchase sponsorships between $1,500 and $25,000 for benefits such as name acknowledgment during the event and complimentary performance tickets.
The annual festival will be from August 7th to August 17th. Tickets to see A Streetcar Named Desire at The Grandel will start at $45. Admission discounts are available to students. People interested in the panels may pay $50 for access to all presentations, and the walking tour will cost $35 per person. Theaters that hold celebrations like this may use print shops to make their event programs and advertisements.
