St. Louis uses dance to welcome spring
The Spring to Dance festival is coming back to St. Louis for the ninth year.
According to a recent announcement, the three-day event brings 30 professional dance companies together from across the nation. Each day of the festival features a different program, with styles that include modern dance, contemporary, classical, tango, hip-hop, and ballet, among others. Audiences are treated to a wide variety of repertoires, but they need to visit only one venue to see all the troupes. Since Olivette is a St. Louis suburb, many residents may want to make the trip into the city to see this popular program.
The performances are slated for Memorial Day Weekend at the Lee Theater, with performances in the Lee Theater and on the Main Stage. Tickets are now on sale for $10 for one night; $15 per night for the dancers on the main stage only; or for $20 per night, and enthusiasts can see all performances in both theaters. Many Lee Theater performances are already sold out, but tickets are still available for the Main Stage performances, which are scheduled for 7.30 pm on May 27, 28, and 29.
Theater management might like to consider working with a banner printing company to create a series of beautiful, colorful banners to hang throughout the lobby and other public spaces, to enhance the festive feeling of the event.
