St. Louis to hold unique expo
America’s Center in St. Louis will hold a curiosities trade show in April where people can find many types of unique items.
The Oddities & Curiosities Expo is an event that gives consumers access to niche vendors and interesting workshops. Several kinds of goods are sold at the expo, such as preserved specimens, horror-inspired products, funeral collectibles, and antiques. All of the items sold at the expo are legal to own and have been sustainably sourced. There will be a stage at the trade show where attendees can watch sideshow performers.
Two workshops will be offered at the expo. Heather Clark, a representative from The Sleeping Sirens Arts and Oddities, will teach a taxidermy lesson. The class will use ethically sourced materials and go over a brief history of taxidermy. The second activity is the Butterfly Pinning and Preservation Workshop. The course will teach students about entomology and preservation techniques such as positioning butterfly wings, drying, and mounting. Vendors who take part in unique shows like this may use promotional products to engage with eventgoers.
The expo will take place from Saturday, April 6th to Sunday, April 7th. Tickets will cost attendees $15 per person, and discounts are available to those who buy admission to the trade show in advance. Children who are 12 and younger may enter the expo for free. The taxidermy class will cost $225 per person, and the butterfly pinning workshop is $150.
