St. Louis association to hold walking tours
The Landmarks Association of St. Louis will offer regularly scheduled city tours later this spring.
The Landmarks Downtown Walking Tours are a series of events where people can learn about the history and culture of Downtown St. Louis. Two types of tours will be available to the public. The East Tour will take tourists to the heart of the city to check out iconic structures such as the Gateway Arch, Old Post Office, and Wainwright Building. The West Tour will show attendees the city’s public buildings, including the Union Station and the Peabody Opera House.
The Landmarks Association of St. Louis is a nonprofit organization that was incorporated in 1959. The association helped preserve historical landmarks such as the Bissell Mansion, Chatillon-DeMenil House, and Red Water Tower. The group also created a program for children in 1991 called What Are Buildings Made Of? Students can become a member of the organization for $15, and those aged 30 and under can pay $30 for a Junior Membership.
Nonprofit associations that offer guided experiences like this may use brochure printing to give their guests informative resources to bring home.
The downtown walking tours will be held from Saturday, April 1st to Saturday, October 28th. Each program will begin at 9:00 am and cost $15 per person. Guests under 12 may attend the excursion for free. Only 10 guests are allowed on each tour.
