All aboard the Great Pumpkin Patch Express
Fans of the ‘Peanuts’ comic strip are invited to come out and meet its charters on a special train ride around St. Louis to celebrate Halloween.
The event will feature the story of ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown’, which was written and drawn by Charles M. Schultz. Those who take part will get to enjoy plenty of scenic views of the city as they ride the train from Union Station. As they travel, they will hear a narration of the story provided by members of the crew.
Before they board the rail car, the participants will be able to stroll through ‘The Great Pumpkin Patch’ and meet costumed characters. They can have their photos taken with them, and also choose a pumpkin to take home, enjoy cookies and cider, and sample other family friendly activities. A stationery printer can produce everything from coloring sheets to banners and signage to make the day even more festive.
Those who come out for the event, be they young or old, are encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costumes and join in the theme of the day. Discounted rates are being offered for ticket holders at the St. Louis Station Hotel.
The train rides are scheduled to depart Union Station on Saturdays and Sundays starting on October 10, with special Friday trips taking place on October 23 and 30.
