Womens organization to hold fundraiser at Ham Lake golf club

The Association of Women Contractors (AWC) will hold a fundraiser in June at the Majestic Oaks Golf Club in Ham Lake.

The AWC Scholarship FUNdraiser Golf Event is an annual activity where people can compete in a nine-hole tournament and support aspiring female contractors. Companies may support the AWC’s fundraiser by sponsoring the tourney. Multiple sponsorships are available, like the Cart Sponsor for $500 and the Bloody Mary Bar Sponsor for $400. The highest tier is the Blue Diamond Sponsor, which includes two hole representatives and admission for eight golfers.

The AWC is an organization that was formed in 1995 to empower female business owners and service providers. The community is currently made up of more than 200 professionals from Minnesota. Girls who want scholarships from the organization can apply for an Apprentice or Academic Scholarship. Those who apply for the scholarships must be a resident of Minnesota. The Academic Scholarship is also open to female students who are physically attending postsecondary classes in the state.

The golfing event will be on Friday, June 16 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Those interested in attending the AWC’s tournament must pay $125 per participant. Women who wish to become part of the AWC can apply online. AWC members receive benefits like access to networking activities and educational programming. Groups in charge of golfing events like this may use banner printing to make displays that promote their sponsors to attendees.
